NZ GAP
A quality assurance programme owned by Horticulture New Zealand and audited by AsureQuality. It provides a fully traceable and accountable system from crop to customer for the production of fruit, vegetables and flowers.
GLOBAL GAP
An international set of good agricultural/farming practice standards ensuring food is safe and sustainable. The standard was developed using the Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HAACP) guidelines published by the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organisation. It has definitive rules for growers to follow and is assessed by an independent third party auditor.
TESCO NURTURE
A standard required of producers supplying the UK supermarket giant, Tesco, with fresh fruit and vegetables. It makes sure that best agricultural practices are applied in the production of that produce.
BRC
(British Retail Consortium)
Is a safety and quality certification program designed for food manufacturers. It is regarded as the benchmark for best practice in the food industry. There are over 22,000 certified suppliers in 123 countries. This standard guarantees the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensure that producers/manufacturers provide protection for the end consumer.
Marks & Spencer
FIELD TO FORK
 This is Marks & Spencer's own farm assurance scheme which aims to guarantee the highest quality food. The audit standards are more extensive in requirements than other assurance initiatives and are regularly reviewed to ensure standards are maintained and every farm is annually audited.
LEAF MARQUE
(Linking Environment & Farming)
An environmental assurance system recognising sustainably farmed products. It promotes environmentally responsible farming by helping farmers produce good food to high environmental standards.
